Periodontal Health

Along with your routine cleaning, polishing, and comprehensive exam of your teeth, we will also conduct a periodontal exam to check for gingivitis and periodontal gum disease.  If we find that you do have periodontal disease then we may recommend scaling and root planning also known as a deep cleaning.  A deep cleaning will allow us to remove the tartar and plaque below your gumline comfortably by using a local anesthetic.  These procedures will help prevent further bone loss which will allow you to keep your natural teeth.
